For some time I have been researching a small number of the V1 sites marked by Mosquitos of 109 Sqn. I have information about Ardouval (XI/A/110), Ardouval II (Forêt d’Eawy) (XI/A/221) and the Forêt du Croc (XI/A/235).
In the course of my research I came across a target “5010N 0204E” in the Operations Record Book which I identified as Yvrench-Conteville (XI/A/16). I found a reference to the Yvrench Bois Carré site (XI/A/39) which was said to be known by the German reference Nr.660.
More recently, looking at Middel Straete (XI/A/149), I stumbled across a French genealogical forum which referred to this as being the V1 site at Volckerinckhove. Further research which found an incomplete list on another forum revealed that this apparently has the German reference number 45.
My internet search for the German list, including using “v1 feuerstellung”, has not yielded anything directly relevant.
Presumably a German list of V1 sites must exist somewhere. Does anyone know where an easily accessible version might be found and whether this would show the co-ordinates of the sites?

Does anyone have a list of the 50 or so sites that actually fired V1’s?

Gus_635,
Yes, I found a partial list – try this link:

As far I can tell, Volckerinckhove was also known as Middel Straete by the Allies, and according to the list on the link it was known as Feuerstellung 45 by the Germans.

Hello Bob, did you ever find a list of the German V1 sites and can you confirm that you still believe that Middel Straete is V1 Feuerstellung Nr. 45 please?

Many thanks charliehunt. I think I may have solved my mystery. The Noball list I have (I am not sure of its original source) has been transcribed and shows Middel Straete with the co-ordinates 50.50.36N, 02.12.31E. Looking on Google earth I have found the “Chemin De La Piste V1” in Volckerinckhove. It has co-ordinates approximating to 50.50.36N, 02.17.31E. I think, therefore, that there may have been a simple transcription error in the list I have, and this is what has confused me!!
If you are able to confirm the co-ordinates from your source (I think you said on another thread that you had lent it to someone?), then the problem will be solved!
Having said which, if anyone knows of a source for the German numbers for the V1 sites, I would be interested to hear.
