Bruntingthorpe CWJ today

Another great day thanks to everyone involved, with plenty of hardware on display and running. At one point i think i counted seven JP’s running. But a special thank you to Clive, Roger and the crew of ‘Treble three’ for allowing me access to the Canberra.

What’s the story behind the Tristars at Bruntingthorpe?
Are they being stored? I didn’t count them all but there must be 6 or 8 of them.

They are currently in storage but due to fly out to the US sometime soon. They’ve been sold to a broker over there. See here: http://www.csdsaircraft.com/aircrafts_available.html

Not entirely sure, although sadly I don’t think any are for preservation there as they are “spoken for”.
But personally I would of loved one to be kept live if possible, together with the superbly preserved VC-10.

But the work that already goes on there to keep all these jets running is incredible!

Indeed, never seen so many, although they were somewhat dwarfed by the mighty Tristar!

Rob

They’re a rare sight. I own two myself, though sadly my VR6 wasn’t ready in time. Great that an event covers both my main passions though! 😀

I see you captured some of the Corrados from the Corrado Club GB national day. 🙂

Cheers Clive. Another couple from me including our driver Dennis Brooks – very experienced and a thoroughly decent chap!
