Museums at Night -Middle Wallop

What a nice evening for a ‘Meet the pilots’ event at the Museum of Army Flying, Middle Wallop.
The Army Historic Flight rolled out their Scout and Auster 9 and with no barriers you could get close up and personal with the aircraft whilst asking the pilots all about the aircraft and how they will be operating once transfer to the civil register gets sorted. The Army Flying Association was represented by the Chipmunk returning from a trip to East Anglia.

BBC South Today were filming – I tried to keep out of shot but I’ll be watching tomorrow night all the same.

Inside the Museum the exhibits were also talked about, here Colonel Nick Nicholls explains how he flew the Horsa glider, Nick was one of three GPR old boys who were hard to stop once they got going.
The modern Army Air Corps were not left out and we had a talk about AAC ops in Afghan.
A great event one I hope will be repeated.
