Hi Ritch & Max,

Any update on the project? Always had a wee soft spot for the Provost.

Hi Ritch and Max
I used to own XF898 and WW388 (7616M) at Chinnor back in the 1980’s prior to swapping it for a Proctor in Wales. XF898 was in a poor state and I managed to rescue all usable parts to make WW388 into a more complete airframe. Indeed the spar fittings went to XF690 owned at that time by the Late David Micklebough to get his Provost flying again. There were extensive spares that went with WW388 to the Welsh Museum at Cardiff, and I am sure that these will have accompanied the airframe when the museum closed. This included all the spare canopy, cowlings, windscreens, throttle controls etc. I hope that this provides some direction to completing your project. Best regards, George.

Our ex Brendon Deere, ex Burma Percival piston Provost is on the museum floor now. Are you doing the whole aircraft or just the cockpit?

Gee-soos! There’s a teeny bit missing! At least I had an almost complete aircraft to start with (WW397). Luckily there’s plenty of Piston Provosts around, Iraq, Sudan, Rhodesia (sorry; Zimbabwe) and of course Burma!!!!

Thank’s Fly.buy, but as Dave say’s that is a diferent type of panel.
We need the type shown in this photo.

Here is the project that we have.

So, if anyone has any parts or literature available, we are interested!

Also, this project has been around a while, so we are interested to know it’s past history and if possible it’s identity.

Ritch.

You probably have it already but there was a complete Piston provost blind flying panel for sale at Shoreham, I have the sellers details if you need them.

This was a rh panel of a different design to the one Ritch needs. Good spot though.

Ritch, I’m glad you like provost parts. It is a good start for a “quarter cockpit’ if desired.

See you a newark next month.

Hi John

Thanks for showing us around today, the work you guys are doing is inspirational. It was interesting to see all of the bits together in the flesh, it certainly bought home the true size of your project.

Thanks again for your hospitality.
