You may have heard about American pilot-daredevil and aircraft constructor Cla(i)r(e) Vance (the writing of his given name differs). In the Flickr account of the San Diego Air and Space Museum, you can find this picture collage:

Well, the aircraft looks +/- like a “normal” De Havilland DH 4, but the fuselage is strutted to the wings! In aerofiles.com, I could not find a hint on this aircraft, neither in the Vance section nor in the De Havilland’s one.
Do you know anything about this aircraft? Thank you for ervery answer!

I have to correct myself, the plane is mentioned in the Vance section of aerofiles.com, as first entry, although without a picture. Not mentioned is the later change to a (so far) unknown inline engine.
