35 Squadron Lincoln B2

Can anyone help out with the serials of the Avro Lincoln allocated to 35 Squadron in 1949? I have SX937 and SX983 from the Operations Record Book, but can’t find reference to any others. I believe they were allocated 6 (plus a replacement for SX937).

Also, has anyone got details on the loss of SX937?

Any help would be much appreciated

Regards

Further research on this matter suggests that it was SX990 that crashed (not SX937 as recorded in the ORB). This means that one other Lincoln would have been allocated to 35 Squadron to make up its establishment number of six aircraft after the loss of SX990.

Are there any other sources which may help find this elusive serial number?

Thanks for the feedback; very much appreciated.

No 35 Squadron ORB records that SX937 crashed on landing after a Bullseye Exercise on 29th September 1949; in October, the ORB states that a replacement for SX937 had been delivered (ie the number is quoted on two occasions).

I am wondering if this should read “957” or “987”; as with all research, more digging is required

Regards (and thanks again)

Air Britain lists SX957, SX976, SX983, SX987, SX988 and SX990 as being allocated to 35 Sqn. SX937 from your post is only noted as being allocated to 100 Sqn then sold as scrap on 5 April 1957.
