I have this piece of aluminium that I have shown before without any positive id.
From the part number it could possibly be HP54 – Handley Page Harrow.
Can anyone confirm whether HP’s numbering system for 54 02874 matches any known section ?
Found this lovely video of the first aircraft being “launched” ?!

The code is indistinct – but from this list it is K6933.
The list is a wonderful selection of inter war types and prototypes..

As an aside, I was born in Hampdem Road, Harrow Weald and my father worked for Handley Page

Ah. I see, you mean the code on the aircraft in the Pathe movie is the indistinct one that might be K6933. My misinterpretation. That’s quite likely, as K6933 was also the first production aircraft. But as you say, it doesn’t get you any nearer your part.

Apologies if I was misleading – I was checking if this part was from an HP54 – but not any specific aircraft. Just my digging about into HP54’s found the video which I found interesting.
The part was acquired last year at Shoreham. So could be from anything.

I have no idea what this metal part is, but K6933 was one of the three Harrows converted to a tanker for refuelling the transatlantic Empire Flying Boats. In this guise it became G-AFRG, and ended it’s life in Canada as RCAF 794. The conversion required some non-trivial changes in the bomb-bay, so if this part comes from that area it may explain how it came to be ‘surplus’ (and still in the UK).
