Bowden cable join – Spiteful Part

Found this item, it is a bowden cable join (one cable goes into each side). Does anyone recognise it please?
The little item to the right is a part from a micro switch.

Hello Tony,

I believe it is actually one of the connectors from the later-type electrical TBs with the remains of the cable in still soldered into the nipples, an example of a less ‘crashed’ example here:
