Is anyone doing any special events for the 70th Anniversary of Arnham?
Perhaps a few Dakotas in formation?
BBMF, Dutch Association – any others around?

The Jet Age Museum hopes to have its Horsa cockpit replica complete by then. We were privileged to welcome two former pilots, both aged 91, to see the project today. Ken Plowman and Leslie Kershaw spent several hours with us reminiscing. It was fascinating to see.

Not much information available yet. It will be a larger programme then the last couple of years. Parachute group Holland has planned jumps at several events. Usually they hire Drag em Oot for this.

The usual events will be held in Arnhem itself.
Mass paradrop on Ginkel Heath, Military vehicle parade through the town and of course the commemoration service in Oosterbeek cemetry. The aniversary weekend is almost a public holiday and at times far from sombre.
The 60th was attended by both Dutch and British Royalty and the crowds were massive, I wonder how large the events for the 70th will (BTW my coach trip is already booked). The service in the cemetry is always moving with each grave having flowers placed on it by a schoolchild.
