Sea King Seat

Hi chaps, anyone have any pics of the types of seat used in early Sea King helicopters? I’ve just acquired a seat off fleabay and the seller reckons it could be from said aircraft due to it coming with a seat pad with the words Sea King and ZA133 on the back. Looks rather basic and perhaps a bit small for a helicopter though. Cheers!

Thanks, Ian and Bluelarky. I’ll contact them.

Is that a Sea King collective then, Ian? I’m missing the 1st pilot’s collective so that would be just the ticket. Listing has ended but it may not have sold so the seller may still have it.

Mike.

I agree, Tony, great chopper (ooh err!)

Have you got a link to the seller, Bluelarky? I’ll be in need of some SK instrumentation in the near future.

Great thanks guys! I had no idea the seat was so basic! Apparently there will be another one up for grabs soon, along with some instruments. I presume sea king related. Thanks again for your help. Yet again an invaluable source of endless knowledge!

Looks Sea King to me! A gentleman’s carriage to fly, but nowhere near as fun or dynamic as the Chinook!!

Cheers for the replies so far chaps! Judging by Rocketeer, I’d say it wasn’t sea king…. Pics attached. Thoughts appreciated!

There will shortly be a Haynes Sea King Manual, I believe, by Lee Howard. Not sure on publication date, though.

i can remember a sea king seat recently on Ebay. The tail number sounds right (might be a Junglie). They are very basic seats (very similar to the P51 Mustang!). We still use them, not just on Sea Kings – quite comfortable!

Hi,

If you can stick a picture on, it may help to id the seat, just in case it isn’t Sea King.

regards

Nigel (owner Sea King XV677)
