Unidentified Prop & Turret

That looks like the same Griffon, Nispot. The stand is the same construction and colour. Also, the reduction gear with the prop has some of that dark pink paint on it as well. Looks like they were split to aid transport.

Griffon 59

There was also a Griffon 59 engine in a shed as well – could this and the prop possibly be from a Fairey Firefly that crashed off Portstewart? The engine and prop of that one were said to be recovered in 1987 and went to an Aviation Society in the Enniskillen area.

The prop is definitely Firefly Mk 7 .

Having looked at the canopy picture again I can see the small fairing on the top, front, which fairs in to the fore/aft strake on the windscreen of the Sea Vixen.

There looks to be a bit of wreckage and one or two cowling panels dotted around the premises, too.

Not sure as to the original pictures and queeries re. turret and prop but, the canopy in post #8 certainly looks like a FAW1 Sea Vixen for sure. Possibly ex- RNAY Belfast?

Might possibly be a Sea Hawk canopy but I’m puzzled by the grey band over the middle.

In the first photo of the turret cupola there appears to be a contra-prop Griffon (minus front reduction gear case) in the background. Is the owner an aviation parts collector?

Could be ex-Ballykelly wreckage and scrap.

Thanks for your help folks! This canopy was also in the collection that I saw and appears to be from an early jet fighter – Sea Vixen perhaps?

It looks to be a Griffon reduction gear casing attached to the back of the prop. Firefly or something like that?

Could that be a DH prop once fitted on a Napier Sabre?

Propellor Hub

This is close up of the propellor hub – not sure if this helps at all?

No idea about the propeller, are there any markings on it? The turret looks very like the Bristol B.17 as fitted to Lincoln and Shackleton.
