I have finally finished doing a much needed overhaul of the Australian National Aviation Museum’s website and dragged it kicking and screaming into the 21st Century 🙂
It’s still a simple thing but the layout is pretty uniform and provides a clearer insight into the collection. I will be adding a gallery for various aircraft at a later stage, hopefully one that will show the particular aircraft’s life.
Anyway – http://www.aarg.com.au Enjoy!

I like the way you have set out the website. I went on with a view to looking what aircraft were in the collection. The subsections were much easier to navigate than a long list and each aircraft has an individual history and a large photo, which is what I wanted. Look forward to seeing the gallery when you add it.
Thanks for the feedback, I just wanted to make something a little simpler – we debated about whether to list the collection by age but I felt going for the alphabetical approach was better. I will be making loads of little mods as we go forward just to try and make it a simple process for everyone. I’m hanging out to do the gallery too, could be a lot of fun.
There will be dedicated tabs for each of the restorations as they happen. That way, we should all be able to follow its progress 🙂

Nice one Errol, the Lincoln is in containers (!) but the Beaufighter, Mirage and Beaufort are there (there are two Beauforts, one is the cockpit section fully restored and the other is A9-13 which will be the subject of a long term project soon. The Jindivik is on loan to the Benalla Museum (as is the Macchi and Vampire) and undergoing restorations while there.
Cheers

Good work!
I’ll be visiting from NZ next week, planning for Thursday afternoon. Especially keen to see the DAP/GAF aircraft.

Should have pointed out the obvious – the new logo is a test logo – its a B17 currently but will be replaced ASAP by the mighty Beaufighter, we have had issues getting the drawing correct.
