Some years ago I picked up two pieces of a gun turret on the beach at Bracklesham Bay, which is only 4 or 5 miles from Selsey. I wonder if they originated from the same aircraft. The bits I found, I donated to the Tangmere museum, after spending several years hanging from a nail in my garage!

Most likely Lanc but (Griffon) Firefly had them too, but slightly larger. Hard to tell with the mounting flange missing but the numbers should confirm one way or the other.
I think I once saw a picture of a Barracuda with these as well

Several Lancaster ‘candidates’ in the sea area around there.

Lancaster ejector exhaust. These can and do fail at the weld and fall off in flight.
Or could it point towards crates of Spitfires being pushed over board on their way to Burma?
