RE: Your worst flight……

Oh guys, I had forgotten a real risky one. Landing over here tends to be rough due to atlantic winds and gusts (usually gales). It was an Spanair MD83 from Madrid. Regular flight and landing on a stormy day. Approached in middle of heavy turbulences, and as we were seeing the forest, it literally collapsed and dropped…..as a huge and big air pocket. It seems that we were impacting against the trees. More power and go up and then down again against the tarmac. Big bump and violent touchdown, the lights went off and the rack opened….ufff. As we were leaving the plane I heard the pilot saying to another pilot in the cocpit….it was a windsheer, a windsheer. His face was pale. I knew what that meant.
