Torpedo pilot – anyone up for a spot of research at IWM?

Hello all – I’m wondering if somebody visiting Imperial War Museum’s Reading Room knows of the following papers and/or might be happy to do a spot of research for me. I’m in New Zealand, researching an Australian torpedo squadron (8 Squadron RAAF) which operated Beauforts in New Guinea. RAF Beaufort/Beaufighter pilot Wing Commander Anthony (Tony) Gadd spent 1942-43 in Australia instructing at the Base Torpedo Unit at Nowra, New South Wales. IWM advises me they have diaries and photocopies of his logbooks covering 1936-43 (I’m interested in 42-43). If your interest is piqued and you spend a bit of time at IWM and you wouldn’t mind having an hour or three’s look into his papers for me, I’d be a very happy man. I can offer your name in acknowledgements and I would be happy to do exchange research in NZ (I’m close to National Archives) or Australia (I get across there a couple of times a year, and know Australian War Memorial, National Archives, RAAF Museum well.) cheers all. john
