Wellsbourne Mountford Vulcan

Anyone know if the Vulcan is still at Wellesbourne mountford airfield in Warwickshire and what is its current status?

Shown here at the 2012 event. Very impressive, I thought.

They are celebrating the 30th anniversary of it going into Wellesbourne this year.

Thanks for the info. I last saw it 20+ years ago soon after it was flown in, I was told at the time that it couldn`t be flown out again as the runway was too short. I had the opportunity to look around the aircraft and sit in the various positions on the flight deck and have to say it looks in better condition now than it did then.

They have a Wings and Wheels event that normally coincides with Fathers Day. The WWW must have been going for at least 12 years. I know 1995 was the first time 655 moved under it’s own power for many years.

XM655 is still going strong and the group that look after her have a display stand at this event in May. I believe that they have an event in June 2014 that will feature XM655. 🙂

It’s certainly not going anywhere (other than the occasional trundle)

Allow me to Google it for you. http://www.xm655.com/
