Does anyone have access to details of archive sound recordings held by the BBC? Sgt Bill Butler, a pilot with 166 Squadron was interviewed on BBC in November 1943 after he and his crew bombed Berlin on their own after the Bomber stream had departed (they took off late and had difficulties en route). They were badly shot up and came home on two engines, belly landing at Bradwell Bay. Their exploits made the national press under the headline ‘7 Sergeants over Berlin’
