Brooklands Museum flooding.

The Brooklands Museum has suffered some flooding from the adjourning River Wey.
I understand some of the car exhibit buildings and the club house are affected.
The museum website says it will remain closed until at least Monday.

Tech archives are ok as nothing is permanently stored below below about 18″ or in the lower drawers of filing cabinets and plan chests.

Anything temporarily below this level was moved on Christmas Day. Cars were either moved out or placed on axle stands.

As of today the museum is on track for reopening on Monday, and certainly in time for the big one on New Years Day when over 1000 cars and in excess of 4500 visitors passed through the gates last year.

Let’s hope the weather abates soon and no serious harm is done.

And what about Photo & Tech Archives??

fana

I believe they are in the building with the Concorde flight simulator which I understand is OK.
After the disastrous flood when the strat chamber and clubhouse were swamped work was carried out
when the Mercedes world complex was built to reduce the risk.
