Many many years ago I visited the Strathallen museum with my parents – I think i would have been about ten maybe? In the shop they had a box of assorted aircraft spares that they were selling off. I bought the socket in the attached photo and I’ve had it in the cupboard ever since.
Can anyone tell me what it might be?
The cover is stamped “HLP” and “5D/525 A.M” and the crown.

It’s an armament connector. Possibly used for rocket firing etc.
Someone else should be along with a better explanation hopefully!
