Brad Pitt Spitfire Owner

I was wondering about this myself a few weeks ago, while watching Allied.

Apparently this story’s doing the rounds again – War History Online or one of its relatives, and still with a photo of TB863 flying at Wanaka – but I can’t find an identity for the aircraft. Considering tracking down his agent to ask as was suggested, but has anyone ever found out more? Goodall doesn’t have the word “Pitt” anywhere in the Vickers Supermarine section!

A passing interest perhaps. Warbirds are traded regularly and we are used to seeing aircraft here move overseas and vice versa. None of us can influence what happens so we can only simply accept it.

Until it’s sold, then (I’m assuming) you want to know if it’s staying in the UK. 🙂

My impression is the opposite. The interest in who owns what seems to ignore celebrity entirely. However I suppose for some it adds an extra frisson of interest.

You can’t get away from today’s shallow, celebrity-obsessed, world anywhere nowadays – not even here.

Nobody seems get their knickers in a twist about who owns what airframe generally – perhaps with the noteable exception of Tom Cruise and his Mustang – but that says it all really doesn’t it

Not sure where this thread is going with members seemingly withholding information they deem unsharable or claiming acquaintanceship with members of the owner’s family only to hastily change the subject.

Nowhere is the answer – for the moment! But, as JB says, sooner or later it will be in the public domain anyway.

If a film star wants confidentiality or anonymity, then he/she probably shouldn’t buy a Spitfire.
Sooner or later it will have to show up somewhere…and being one of a relative few, it will be noticed.

At least Rowan Atkinson admits to owning his McLaren F1 P380 GJM and doesn’t mind being shown in it on the cover of an international magazine.
And a McLaren F1 is rarer and more valuable than a Spitfire.
Really, I’m not convinced about the need for this “cloak & dagger” nonsense.
Their salaries, divorce costs and home purchases are usually detailed in the “popular press” as read by the underclass. 🙂
