Everyone will probably be familiar with the G45 gun camera used through the war and up until the early 1970’s.
But on the whirlwind fighter the AP suggests the aircraft used the G 42 B gun camera. we cant find to much information on this camera and would appreciate anything anyone has tucked away in their collections on this particular item.
if anyone actually has such a camera we would greatly appreciate being able to view it ,photograph it and do all sorts of things that are legal with it to ensure we are as accurate as we can be.
Many Thanks

Hi Mike
I believe an old friend of yours has a casing with remains of its mounting in the Birmingham area.

I noticed another one in the glass display cabinets in the BofB hall at Hendon a couple of weeks ago, near the .303 Browning displays.

Appears to be one attached to a G.28 here.

Cornovii…
No need to loan it to us, it would be both quicker and safer to get it scanned and either send it to myself or Mike…

Hi Mike. I don’t have a camera but I do have the Newnes Practical Mechanics July 1941 issue that deals with the workings of this camera. I could loan it to you if it would be of any interest!
