Spitfire Survivors Part 2.

Good Morning Gents,

My wife is contemplating buying me the above title for Christmas, but I want to know what you guys think of it? Is it worth the expense? I’ve worked on a few of the featured aircraft no doubt (ex BBMF and TFC), but want to know if its better than the pair of smart shoes that are being offered as an alternative????!

Regards,

C6

I hope so!

However, I seem to recall a thread a while ago by G-ORDY mentioning that a deal to re-publish with a mainstream publisher fell through, because one of the co-authors wasn’t happy with the terms of the deal.

Oh, well, just have to keep our fingers crossed!

Cheers

Paul

Is there a plan to reprint volumes 1 and 2? Having spent most of an evening searching the world for copies – only the extortionate Amazon copies seem to exist!

Any leads as to any copies that could be available? Or any idea about a reprint?

My copy of Vol.2 arrived today, and I’m already making my way through it. Excellent, excellent work, gents! 🙂

Get the book, and have them ship it in two padded envelopes. Read the book by the fire while wearing the envelopes as a pair of rather unique slippers. That way you will get footwear and reading material for the price of one.

To G-ORDY, Mark12; This is a free tip for your xmas sales offer. 😉

Ordered Vol.1 online. It was delivered in just over a week (I live in Christchurch, New Zealand), packaged in a sturdy box and a ton of bubble wrap. I was so impressed that I purchased Vol.2 as soon as I had read Vol.1. Again, delivered in just over a week, and just as well wrapped.
Go for the book, as who needs shoes when you have your feet up, having a good read?

What next edition? News to me!

Great Book I have vol 1 (saving up for vol 2). My suggestion would be for a loose leaf book so pages could be updated at reasonable cost, as and when any new information comes available. But then perhaps thats for the next eddition.

My only advice is, if you go for the book, don’t order it from Amazon. I did back in July, and am still waiting for it.

We don’t sell via Amazon which may be why you are waiting for it! Sales are direct from our own website!

Based on having only read the first volume, I would go for Volume 2. I’ll be getting hold of it myself soon enough!

Get the book – I found it even more interesting than Vol.1. Not sure why – maybe as they are later aircraft there ar more pictures from the 60’s and 70’s. Well worth the substantial cost and if you already have Vol.1 its compulsary. Obviously you still need shoes – so take the book and pay a visit to Shoezone!

Get the shoes – a book won’t keep ya feet warm n dry unless you burn it.
Shoes, it’s a no brainer.

If you have the first one, you should get the second to complete the set! I too have worked on a number of those featured..

Depends on how worn your shoes are. For walking on it, I would not recommend The Book. For reading it though, go for it. Doesn’t get any better on this subject.
