Supermarine aviation Label

HI All

I have purchased a quantity of Stainless steel aircraft parts and among them was this lable.
Could this be a Seagull and could an identity be found from this lable ?
Some of the Stainless parts also carry the number 223,Could these also be from a seagull ?

Thanks for looking.

1930 would be too early for a Type 223 part, project drawings start in 1932 and fabrication no earlier than 1935. I assume that most components for the Walrus were the same as those for the Seagull V and would have carried the 223 part number, so my guess is that these are from a Walrus.

Thanks for help so far.
Will photo the rest of the parts when I return home.
Sadly the last digit on the date has corroded and is unreadable.
Unfortunatley I have no idea where these were recovered, but the bucket has a mixture of parts in some Hawker and Armstrong,Would have been nice to have the history for them.

Hello Garry,

The label you have should read” The Supermarine Aviation Works Limited”
(Vickers Ltd)

The date on yours either reads 18-2-30 or 18-2-36.

Which some time ago I was informed that your label was put on all pre 1937 Supermarine built assemblies, post 1937 the following label was used.

The last two digits of the part number (23) would indicate that it is rudder related.

Its probably Spitfire, as there are some 223xx parts in the aircraft. For context, can we have a picture of the other parts you bought?
