That’s just the way of preservation, CADman. You rarely get something that is complete and the fun in doing it up is the thrill of the chase and getting those impossible-to-find parts. They will be out there somewhere.
I’d love a Sea King cockpit. Such a great-looking helicopter. I think I fell in love with it when I first saw them on the decks of the US carriers and rescuing the Apollo astronauts way back when.

Remember visting Sultan many years ago for a tour and pointed out to the guide that several of the Sea Kings in store were Falkland war veterans and purhaps efforts should be made to save them. Does anybody know which airframes are being disposed of and if any of the significant airframes are being either keep back or are available for purchase. Looks like the airframes for sale are badly stripped off spare parts, which sadly means hours of work to find and refitt the missing bits.

The picture is taken at HMS Sultan (Gosport) in the storage hangar. This also houses a wasp (XV625) amongst many Sea Kings awaiting their fate.
