I have another Wellington question and hope someone out there knows the answer. I cannot find any evidence that the Wellington T.19 ever saw service – or even existed at all! Please let me know what you know.
Thanks
Steve

That photograph is a little misleading as the caption says it is NA851 but if you look closely it is clearly RP318. Both were among the six completed T.19 conversions.

There’s a photograph of a Mk XIX at 24 M.U. Stoke Heath in Charlie Andrews’s Vickers Putnam book pp 360 .

Got the answer. 24 conversions of Mk.Xs stored at 24 MU were planned, but only six were completed before the programme was cancelled. All six were flown to Kemble for more storage and ultimately scrapping. So none entered service.

Thanks for the replies, but this is as much as any reference says. Nowhere can I find anything that identifies user units or individual aircraft.

Hi Steve
Andy from Brooklands here.
You probably know this, but the following is taken from the Wellington display panels created by Denis Corley and myself. Nudge me if you would like me to delve deeper into what we have..

“Mark XIX (Basic Trainer Conversion)
This was a post war R.A.F. conversion of the Mark X which was intended as an interim basic trainer for Flying Training Command, incorporating all of the improvements which had evolved during the war. It was succeeded by the Valetta and Varsity”.
