Vintage Cessna deliberately wrecked on Berkshire farmstrip

A classic 1950’s Cessna G-AXZO is one of three aircraft deliberately rammed by a Jeep on the Englefield Estate west of Reading.

”Thames Valley Police said it appeared a vehicle was driven into the Cessna single engine planes in Englefield.

The three planes have been written of as a result of the damage, estimated by the owners at up to £700,000.

A Jeep Grand Cherokee was discovered set alight nearby, in Bath Road. A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Buildings at the airfield were also damaged by the planes being pushed into them.

Police said the planes were a 50’s vintage type, a four-seater piston-powered plane and a six-seater light business plane.”

Gotta say it,, but the guy that did that is a complete asshole,,,,, Sorry mods, censor if you wish, but that’s what he is,,

Blimey – all he did was spell Colditz incorrectly! Methinks the respondent is an English teacher!

“Written of”??? Lack of proof reading…

Proofreading is like calligraphy. It no longer exists, having been replaced by “click ‘send’.” Nobody even reads over their forum posts or e-mails just one quick time before sending them. President Obama’s media advisor yesterday sent a Tweet in which he used the word “bigger” but spelled it “nigger.” Huge uproar, super-embarrassing. For god’s sake, a Tweet is 140 characters long, max, can’t you take the time to “proofread” it? Apparently not.

Poor writing, lack of proof reading, I feel.

As for the Cessna’s, nothing a little gaffer tape wouldn’t hide…

Looks repairable to me, such a shame, reminds me of one several years ago where they went down a line of them cleaning the tails of the likes of some 152.
