JM – Doh- yes, missed the obvious one, the Bodo example, which was the reason the Kbley one was recovered to start with -in order to supply parts! So that would mean four survivors, and possibly another from Neman….

This Pe-2 was recovered from some lake near Murmansk in the middle of the 1990s and later came in Norway

As there are only 3 survivors, with one in Monino and one in Poland, this can only be the airframe that the Norwegians started restoring – although only the nose was completed and put on show at Bodo -will this nose follow the rest of airframe to Kbely

Thanks rumcajs. This has no engines, but I assume the museum has a few in their great collection. This is the third known survivor I think, however there was one supposedly recovered from the Neman river in 1970s or 80s. Anyone remember anything about this?

This Pe-2 has engines and will be restored to appearance of Czechoslovak Air Force livery of the second half of the 1940s similar to Il-2 and La-7 which the museum already has. The chief of the Czech army historical institution has said tha this Petljakov is most important and the greatest purchase of the museum during last 20 years… Yes, you are right, only two Pe-2 are preserved right now in whole World, and this is the third. The negotiation about purchasing took two years… This Pe-2 was recovered from some lake near Murmansk in the middle of the 1990s and later came in Norway and now it arrived to the Czechlands
