Recently watched these 2 films,
Island in the Sky from the book by Ernest K. Gann on TCM 23/9/13 sorry no heads up daughter taped it for me but no doubt will be repeated. Good views of the C.47 flying and c/pit.
There,s be the Glory a semi documentary of Arnhem made just after the war “staring the men who where there”, downloaded from imdb, good views of Stirling,s towing gliders, and the gliders themselves, also C,47s…
if you,ve got time, i think well worth watching…

There’s be the Glory is a strange film, realistic sets – it was filmed in the ruins of Arnhem. Bad acting – what do you expect from real soldiers, however that does give the battle scenes a sense of authenticity.
I’d be intersted to know the opinion of a Psychologist in the field of PTSD about the idea of taking men back to the site of their battle within a year of the action and asking them to re-enact it for the camera. I think of this when I watch the film and forgive the bad acting.
