WW2 Burnham Market crash, possible single seat German aircraft. Norfolk

Hi there
Does anyone know about the WW2 plane crash that happened in 1944 near Burnham Market
It is believed that a single seat German aircraft came down in the corner of a field near the junction of Overy Road and Friars Lane. The pilot parachuted into the greenhouses on Overy Road and a dig took place on the site about 4 years ago. Sorry no further details.
I know its abit scant but its the only details I’ve got

I am told by local land owners that the site was excavated about 4 years ago but I don’t know as yet, by who, and what the result was. Any leads anyone ?

It was actually a P51B. 2Lt John Allen baled out of 42-106919 following engine failure on 18th June 1944 on a training flight. He was serving with 368th F/Sqn ~ 359th F/Grp at East Wretham. He was killed shortly afterwards on 8th August after being by flak near Dreux.

A quick scan of my indexes shows nothing that might match this. Additionally, I’d be surprised if it was a single-seat German aircraft in this location at the time you suggest.

A little more detail might help refine the search.
