Sgt A C Metcalfe , 604 Sqn .

I have been asked by a good friend to see if I can find anything out about a family member . The person we are interested in is Sgt A C Metcalfe of 604 Sqn who were operating Blenheims early in the war . I have been helped in the past by forum members and hope you can help again with this one .

I think in this case it is because he was originally AAF – Auxiliary Air Force, in simple terms it means part timer. Embodiment meant becoming a full time member of the RAF, presumably for the duration of the present emergency.

He flew in the Battle of Britain whilst with 604 squadron.
