& this was only one of many such sales/auctions that went on for a few years after WW1. I wonder how much of the stuff that was sold is still lying long forgotten in sheds & attics etc ?. The O/400 wings used in that garage roof may well have come from one such sale.

Even after the formation of the Aircraft Disposal Company, such sales still went on for a number of years.

What an interesting read.
I was told allot of surplus props were cut down and turned into coat hangers. This one here is missing the hooks but the holes for them can be seen spaced evenly apart. I’m not really sure what aircraft it was off unfortunately.

It was probably an event similar to that, when my maternal Grandfather picked up a batch of wooden propellers.
