I was at Apex corner around 15.45 on Friday 13th, when I saw the fuselage of an early Mk of Spitfire heading South from M25 towards presumably Hendon Museum.
Does anyone know anything about this aircraft, and why it was being moved? The prop and wings were removed, but the fuselage was very intact.

That would explain perfectly why it is not being flown !
But they already have a model in the entrance next to the Hurricane. I presume you can get up close and personal to the full scale model, but I would prefer to see the real thing.
It is not every day you see a Spitfire fuselage being transported, so I was curious as to why it was being moved by road, and not flown.

Battle of Britain weekend at Hendon this weekend so maybe heading for there or another celebration, could of been a plastic one I suppose.
