WJ574 – TT18 Canberra

Hi Folks

I’m new here, found the site by searching for people who are interested in the TT.18 Canberra I am helping to restore at Valiant Air Command.

The aircraft itself is in great shape, it appears that the crew landed her after finding out the funds for their project had been removed. They got out the cockpit and left her.

We opened her up to find the gloves for the pilot were on the instrument dash and the asbestos gloves for using the cartridge starter were still stored.

We have a facebook page: – http://www.facebook.com/pages/WJ574-Canberra-Restoration/122941504562143

Here are some pictures of her in various stages of the restoration:

Definitely a timewarp with Filton, Chiv and St Mawgan on the comms card…

Great project – best of luck; been a while since I was there – cracking museum.

Hello Martin and welcome to the forum. I’ve been following your progress on Facebook, and i have to say its great to see so much enthusiasm and effort going towards restoring a Canberra in foreign climes – especially as its now undercover. Keep up the good work.

Rob
