Agreed. You have cracked it. It has been bugging me. The vacant hole is the position of the tailwheel locking switch.

Here’s a close up. It has the end of the next gate for the Landenklappen. What an excellent language German is.

I’m thinking Ju88 as it’s anodised. A cockpit line drawing shows the sprung gate at the end. I’ll try and photograph the book. It looks dug up and the kind of thing one would be pleased to own!
