Is this Merlin part?

Some divers recently found what looks like a brass engine nut from a Merlin. The part number is E31904/1. Can anyone confirm this is from a Merlin please?

Quite possibly, yes. Hillington-made parts often seem to carry the letter G for Glasgow. If the engine number stamped on the crankcase is prefixed C, that doesn’t mean Crewe, just for info.

The inspectors stamp has a ‘C’ prefix – made in Crewe by any chance?

Yes, it is one of the end cylinder holding down nuts.
Now you just need the other 10,999 parts.
