Can anyone recommend a person capable of getting a TR9 wireless set going again please? Bit of a longshot but there must be someone who can help…

Thanks James – don’t worry, I won’t do anything daft. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi
If you still need help do try the Vintage Radio Restoration forum
They have a military equipment section and the appropriate set of knowledgeable forumites.
One thing they probably would say immediately though is don’t just power up old radio gear. It will contain capacitors and possibly silicon rectifiers that may have degraded chemically and may well explode! The bangs can be dangerous as well as smelly and make a mess of your beloved radio gear. There are tests that can be done before applying full power and these may require some new or internally altered components.
Cheers
James

Send me an e-mail.
I may have somebody for you who probably has all the bits and bobs, valves etc….as well as the time and expertise.
