Cheers

I just checked, and I just got this from their ‘about us’ page
How does the Amazon acquisition affect The Book Depository customers?
The Book Depository and Amazon are aligned in wanting to ensure the best possible experience for customers. Working with Amazon we will look to continue to increase our vast selection of great titles and provide even better customer experience.
They were bought up in 2011.

They are not owned by Amazon but you can order from them, along with many other book retailers, from the Amazon website. There is a standard charge for shipping of £2.80. If you order direct from The Book Depositary the price will be £2.80 more than that on Amazon but the postage is free.
I have never had any problems with them. The only time I queried anything was when I ordered two books and only one arrived. I got a prompt reply along the lines that they always ship books separately and sure enough a day or two later the second book arrived.
BTW If you order from the Amazon website, the total price you pay will be the same but Amazon keep an eye on the order and will chase things up if they do not receive a notifation that it has been shipped.

http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/ ?
They are owned by Amazon aren’t they?
I’d be surprised if they have.
I haven’t bought from them recently though.
