26/10/2006 – Superb bust of wartime pilot Mike Donnet unveiled at the Royal Army Museum
A very convincing looking bust of wartime pilot Michel “Mike” Donnet based on a wartime picture of this pilot has been unveiled at the Aeronautical Section of the Royal Army Museum at Brussels. The stature is positioned in the cockpit of Supermarine Spitfire LF.IX MJ783 (ex-BAF SM-15) which is on public display and is surprisingly realistic.

Hi All,
Thanks Etienne for the article great read all veterans such as Mr Donnet are truly inspirational what I cannot understand is why more aren’t taught about at schools
weather it’s the Pc brigade or just considered uninteresting I don’t know but in my mind if all where taught they would have a more balanced approach to life and more respect for each other through their own life but Mr Donnet’s story just shows what can be achieved despite how bad your circumstances are and should be a lesson for all to follow in his footsteps.
