I called in at a military surplus store at Roche, Switzerland, this morning, and was surprised to see this hanging in the roof.
It is the right boom of one of the first Vampire FB6 built in Switzerland, which was formerly intact outside a factory in Freienbach (up to about 2006).
A pair of non-tapered wings hangs alongside, but I couldn’t identify them.
A new place to put the pilot can be seen in the second photo, and the third shows one wing (mounted upside down with big mass balances on the “top”). Anyone identify the wings?.

Agreed Bruce. The left “wing” looks to have a flap rather than an elevator.
I’ve sent an email to the store to see if they know!

The right hand one is certainly a Vamp tailplane, with elevator – not so sure about the other one!

Brilliant to the last two posters. I hadn’t thought of that, but I think you are right!
In the move from its former home this boom has lost its bullet fairing. I had not realised that the fairing simply fitted over the fin to boom structure.

I reckon they’re Vampire/Venom tailplanes.
(Edit: Snap! :eagerness:)

I could be wrong, but it looks as though the ‘wings’ are a couple of Vampire tailplanes.
