Can anyone help move some Whitley wings – Norwich to Essex?

I need to start moving my Whitley parts nearer London and I am looking for someone who can help me either commercially or on a voluntary basis. Ideally we’d need a hiab, or just some good old fashioned manpower.

Can anyone help, or provide any leads please?

Thanks in advance.

If it’s a weekend then I’d be happy to travel over and lend a hand (from near Booker).

I’m happy to help at the Norfolk end – will combine with something like a visit to the Muckleburgh collection or lunch at the Dabbling Duck in Great Massingham depending on times…….

Elliott, work out a date, and we can hire a wagon from Barford, the other side of Norwich, which I will drive. Looks like we are OK for Labour; I can sort out more bodies at the Norfolk end if required.

I’d be happy to supply some brawn at the Norwich end if it’s before mid-September.

I can give you a contact for an old friend in the Southend area who moved the two Proctors from Sweden to Great Oakley but it would have to be a commercial deal as that is how he earns his living.
I would have been glad to help the Tilbury end but I have just had an operation on my dodgy knee and am on crutches for a while so I am no good for lifting and carrying anything at present.

How about asking Barry Parkhouse/Parkhouse Aviation, at Booker. Barry has a flat bed truck with built-in hiab. He is also experienced in moving aircraft stuff.

PM me for a mobile number if of interest.

Thanks guys – that’s very decent of you to offer to help. It could be a good fourm event! The delivery would be in the Tilbury area. Bruce – the wings are not unmanageable but they are rather fragile in places. If we can get enough bodies at either end I think we will manage safely – we would need a minimum of four people.

I’ll have a look at some dates…

Thanks again

I can assist with a warm body at the Essex end, depending on dates?

Where in Essex, Elliott?

I think they’ll go on a 7.5t flatbed without too much trouble. May even go on a transit flatbed.

I can organise a truck at the Norwich end. I don’t think you need the expense of a Hiab.
