Found this part on a crashsite where a Halifax and Lancaster collided in midair Febr 1943.
Can some-one ID this part??

Adrian,
As it is to do with bomb loading, it’s going to be found in the fuselage, over the bomb bay. On the fuselage floor, at one of the bomb lifting points.

Hi Air Ministry,
The Illustrated Appendix.. is that AP No. 2062A & C Vol III Part I, described at TNA as “Lancaster I & III Illustrations 2nd Edition”?

Found it.. Taken from AP 2062 A
part number 15090 comes up as Pad for Front Winch Reaction Socket from the Wing/Fuselage centre section

It’s very hard to find a part number because of the heavy corrosion of the part but I see an oval stamp with “R3″and underneath a number “23?” Above this oval stamp I found a number W 797? Maybe more numbers but corroded.

Hopefully someone will ID it but if not, go over it with an abrasive pad or get it blasted and you should find a part number. This will usually be enough to ID the aircraft.
