A friend of mine has recently got his hands on a box that apparently originally contained something Spitfire related. As always I am very suspicious of any such claim but as I have no idea what the item is I thought it best to consult the forum experts.
Attached are four pictures of the item, I do not have the dimensions of the box but a hand appears in a couple of pictures so that should give some idea of scale. I do not have a picture of the label that came with it, this apparently has the following wording
“WW2 Spitfire IFF Contactor Unit”
on it.
Always suspicious and skeptical, so can anyone help me with some form of ID.

Well, good luck QP. These things often come up on ebay so if I were you I would hold out for a complete one.

I really did not expect a reply so quickly, nor one that gave me the info I was looking for. Many thanks Whitley_Project for your quick response. I have done a quick Google on Pipsqueak and seen a photo of the unit that used to be in the box.
I now have two things to do…..
a) Persuade my friend to sell me the box
b) Find a contactor unit.
