Seen a Boeing 727 flying about over Wiltshire just South West of Warminster a few times this week. First time it was gear and flaps down slow High alpha and a fare bit of power at about 5000 feet.
Second time was today at about 19.30 gear and flaps up, slow speed west to east then banked South to roll out South West.
Mostly White with, what looks like, a Brown fin, 3rd engine pod and rear fuse.
Who, What and Why ??

Came right over my Workshop at Wing Farm Airfiled @ Longbridge Deverill near Warminster at pretty low level making a magnificent Screeching howl tailing of into a deep rumble and black smoke. Fantastic Sound and had us all rushing out to see what it was. We all came back in with Big Silly Grins and laughter with memories of the old days spent at Heathrow and Gatwick roof gardens when we took them all for granted. One of the guys is way too young ( 25 ) to ever have heard or seen one he said !!! He loved it.

It will be great to see it hooning around low level over oil spills! Ironically, it’ll probably be belching out more pollution than it’ll be clearing up :eagerness:

Well, thats what I thought but it had no titles at all. Colour may not have been brown, could have been dark blue or black. As the colour was applied the way I described it it did make me think UPS and may have influenced me to say Brown. ?? Come to think of it, I can’t recall seeing and cabin windows so could be UPS.
Why so low around these parts, possible airtests? Nice to hear the sound of a Propper airliner and to hear it rumbbling for a long time way of in the distance out of site.
