Did the USAF ever fly “D”s out of the UK?
The 406th FBW. was based at Manston. The 513th and 514th FBS were based at Manston and the 512th at Bentwaters.

Very distinctive looking the D model. Was it a ‘smoker’ like the earlier Mk’s?

I’ve seen photos of A’s operating out of Sheppard’s Grove before moving to Bentwaters, but never Ds. Learn something new all the time.

I wonder how much the postage would be ?

Agreed, it would look fantastic at Bentwaters in 512th FIS markings. I’d like to know how that is able to be sold when they usually fall under the jurisdiction of the NMUSAF’s loan programme?
Regards.

I don’t believe the lady is included in the sale. 🙂
