RE: LHR raided
Somebody else has already said that if these people responsible can do this, they are capable of doing anything!
Once into the airport complex with weapons, they could board an aircraft, pass weapons onto others boarding aircraft and it would be tragic.
All this fuss about extra security and we’re not even feeling safe because something like this happens.
I think they actually need extra security where the passengers can actually notice a difference.
On a recent flight from Heathrow, I was forced to take my wallet out of my back pocket (the sort that is divided into three) and some women opened it only slightly and then closed it again – the item was not put through thex-ray machine and was popped into the dish next to the metal detector.
Returning home from Barcelona, only one woman operated the x-ray and metal detecting machines. We were left to place our own stuff through the machine while she observed the screen. Let’s say I was a terrorist (which I’m not, I can assure you), this would have been the perfect opportunity to smuggle something through because there was nobody to see me walking through.
I must say, I feel for the extra £7 security tax we now pay, I am most displeased and would really like to know where this money is going because I have really not noticed a difference in the way passengers and their belongings are checked before boarding their aircraft.
