Hello folks,
Bit of a long shot here. The museum at Caernarfon Airfield (the former RAF Llandwrog) is holding a bit of a bash to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of RAF Mountain Rescue at…RAF Llandwrog.
A number of parties are getting involved to make it a good do. Details are on the Caernarfon Airworld Museum website.
The long shot. Does anyone have a photo showing the original RAF Station sign that would have been by the Main Gate? Google doesn’t seem to be much help. Apparently, someone did get in touch with the AHB about 10 years ago, but that search petered out.
Hopefully, someone will have access to their dad’s/moms/uncles pictures of their time either serving or training at RAF Llandwrog, and maybe there may be a photo or two of the Station sign.
Thanks in advance.

I have some of Eustace Thomas’s personal effects, I shall have a look and see if there is anything in there tonight

According to this site, Llandwrog didn’t have one approved but it may of course have had an unofficial one. I hate to sound picky but the correct term is badge rather than crest.
