RE: more speculation about GLA/EDI
From today’s Evening Times (2/12/02)
German budget airline LowFARE has been forced to suspend it’s new Prestwick/Hanover service due to start yesterday (1/12). Contractual problems with the company supplying it’s Boeing 737 jets have caused the airline to delay the service until March. Over 400 passengers who booked flights over Christmas have received a refund.
The aircraft supply company changed the terms of the lease by asking for a £300,000 deposit 10 days before the service was to begin and attempted to offer smaller 50 seater Fokker planes instead.
Also in the paper, Glasgow MP’s have called for BAA to end it’s central Scotland airport monopoly by selling either GLA or EDI to a rival operator.
