More than one Dutchman interested in the Halifax? Nahh.
It wasn’t me.

Fortunately as every one tends to know each other in the small historic aviation community scams don’t tend to be that prevalent as in other collecting fields.
I did see this particular yoke and column and a Lancaster yoke mentioned some time back on this forum. always thought for some reason the seller was Dutch? but obviously wrong.

I think caution may well be good advice in any case. I’m sure that ad (or at least that photo) has appeared in a thread on here already, maybe a few years back.

Just checked other listings on craigslist and its full of spam ebay items that have already been sold.

Personally i would stay well clear or at least go up in person with cash. I apoligise in advance if i got the guy wrong but quite a lot of high value Ebay items have appeared on that site. Not sure if its the same listing but there was a Lancaster control wheel for sale along with a halifax one that i made enquiries about but the old six sense kicked in. The replies weren’t in the best of English and the address finally given to send a cheque was after googling a Chemists shop in Perth.
Seemed like a classic scam, only email replies, no telephone numbers and excuses about meeting up so i got cold feet and gave up.
Really sorry if i did get the seller wrong but please be cautious if your looking to buy if it is the same advert.

And 96 wasn’t the model number either. A little knowledge…:(

That’s an inspectors stamp Ian. That is a Halifax control column for sure…
