Hi all,
First time poster here.
I’ve come acrossto what appears to be a historic Smiths altimeter, model number on the face is 2931.
Has anybody ever come across one of these before? What aircraft would it have been installed in? How old is it?
I’m really interested to gain any insight, as it is a mystery to me! Ps – apologies for the picture uploading upside down!
Regards

It a surveying altimeter used to produce the contour lines on maps. No connection with aviation

With the two different scales on the face, the very fine needle and graduations, I’m guessing that this is more likely to used for calibrating altimeters, rather than being fitted to an aircraft.
