We had a lovely day at Bentwaters on Sunday, the good weather helped.
Well done to all at the BCWM for organising the event.
I took quite a few pictures , here’s the best of the bunch. The ones of the Jaguars and the Spitfire pre-flight check were taken by my friend Terry. Apologies for quality of some of the pictures, as they were taken through the coach windows.
What is, (or was) this ?

I do hope they protect the canopies before the weather gets to them.

Nice photos-sad to see the Jags etc broken up though.
Picture one is a Navajo I think (PA-31) in what looks like Spanish air force markings.
No idea how it got there and what it was used for in that form though!!
The ex Spanish Navajo has been at Bentwaters for around 12-13 years,it was used in a t.v progamme/film and left inside a hanger with alot of other film props. The museum took it on charge a few years ago but it does not really fit in with our collection policy, so if anyone wants to give it a good home please contact the museum. The tail fin, tailplanes and inner wings are also here but are abit battered as it had suffered from a crash landing which ended its flying career.
Its was put onto those tracks for the Bentwaters Parks airshow in 2010 to simulate a crash recovery and has remained on them ever since !!

Thanks for the info.
Just found this : http://www.aeroplanemonthly.com/features/qaa-archive/85-caterpillar-fuselage
We were told that the Jaguars were available for £10,000, without engines.
They really do need to cover them over before they are just another load of scrap, and the perspex yellows.
